Have you ever wanted to work hard to grow something that’s gorgeous, share it with the local economy, and make money while doing it?  You might be the perfect fit for our budding flower farm!  Located in Newmarket, Fruition is in it’s fourth year of flower farming, and in need of some part-time people who can wear many hats.

The ideal candidate would be interested in cut flower production, and would need to be willing to work efficiently in a wide range of conditions, from weeding without shade on a hot July day to cool rainy days spent planting.   Experience in farm work or design is not necessary, but good listening skills and an ability to work alone are crucial.  Must be able to work weekends and early mornings, come to work dressed appropriately, as well as hold a valid driver’s license.  Cutting and arranging flowers is a very small part of what we do, please be mindful that much of our time is spent planting, weeding, amending soil, swatting flies, etc.  The position runs May-October with additional hours available in April and November if desired.  Hourly rate of compensation will be determined based upon previous work experience.

Although we are not certified organic, we follow all organic practices, and are mindful of the impact we have on our land.  We sell our flowers through a CSA, to fellow florists and DIY brides, as well as by the bunch at local vendors.  Our edible and cut flowers are accessible to local chefs through the Three Rivers Farm Alliance, of which we are a proud member.  Our farm was built in part to serve our need for high quality flowers for our already established wedding design services; we average about 30 weddings each season.

Benefits: Working outdoors, surrounded by flowers, with a reasonably flexible schedule.  Opportunities to do something different everyday, from mowing to driving deliveries, this position could never be monotonous.  We have always produced more than we need in the way of flower and berries, and we will always insist you pick the excess to take home for yourself.
